Successful Learners
Areas of learning
As Geographers we will identify different rainforests in the world. We will find out about the climate and what it is like to live there. We will find out about the indigenous tribes such as the ‘Kayapo’ who live in the rainforests and compare their everyday lives to ours.

As Scientists we will explore the different species of plants and animals that live in the different layers of the forests. We will learn about green plants and their life cycle.

As Artists we will create images inspired by the rainforest using different materials and techniques. We will use natural dyes and fabric to create a rainforest appliqué. We will study tribal art and make our own Kayapo headdresses.

Confident Individuals

As enterprising people we will:
Hold a presentation to persuade others to support us in saving the rainforest. We will be designing our own rainforest images to be printed on e cards, mouse mats, reusable bags and much more! We will promote our cause to raise awareness and money for the Princes Rainforest project and our school.

Responsible Citizens

Environment
As people concerned with our environment we will:
Learn about the effects of global warming, deforestation and endangered animals.
We will find out how we can make a difference by supporting and working with The Prince’s Rainforest Project.
We will think about how we can make a difference in our everyday lives at school.

Spiritual and Moral
In our Spiritual and Moral development we will:
Explore our feelings about the lives of people affected by environmental issues.
